How to win a sony

sony awards logoThe following applies to London only which is a shame but may be of interest to our Southern friends.

“It’s awards season again – and this month details are announced of the one certificate we all want to be able to hang in our downstairs loo… a Sony Radio Academy Award.

So how do you get your hands on one – or perhaps more accurately – how do you make sure your entry doesn’t let you down?

Ask anyone who has judged a Sony category and they will tell you of programmes which should have won – but how the entries let them down. With all the new categories announced this month this is the time to get your plans in place to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

New London stations awarded licences

Congratulations to seven new community licencees in London. In a statement the UK regulator said:

Ofcom invitation: Radio broadcasting in London during 2012

Ofcom is today inviting ‘preliminary expressions of interest’ from individuals and organisations who wish to operate short-term digital radio services in London during or around the period of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. These ‘preliminary expressions of interest’ will help Ofcom both gauge the level of demand for radio services during this period and will inform the design of any possible licensing process should this be implemented.

The invitation can be found here:
