Radio Coombeshead transmits 24hrs a day 7 days a week on 87.7FM – Our core audience is 1600 students on a daily basis with the surrounding area able to tune in.
At 10:40pm & 1:30pm every weekday Radio Coombeshead broadcast’s a daily news bulletin featuring all the latest news from around the College including updates on room changes, school trips, concerts, assemblies, tutorials, media activity, weather report and a round up of all sports news.
Broadcast from our professional radio studio in the new media block, we bring you all the latest information on college life, including any special events, sports news as it happens.
As well as the daily news bulletin students present their own shows every weekday morning at 08:30-08:50 every break-time at 11:00 -11:20 and every lunchtime at 13:00 -13:40 more info on who’s on when can be found on the schedule page. Or who’s on today is just above this text!
For year 7′s radio club is on every Thursday lunchtime from 13:15-13:40 teaching all the essential experience needed to work in radio (many carry on to be presenters or host their own shows) Not only does it teach students about radio and media in general, they will learn reading skills, time keeping and generally build on their confidence.
