Radio Regen is working with 4 partner stations across the UK (shmu, Bradford Community Broadcasting, Preston FM and Future Radio) on a Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded project. The project involves examining current practice in community radio training for young people across the UK with a particular focus on speaking and listening. Outcomes of the project will have implications for the sector as a whole and will involve lobbying work and the creation of an online toolkit and discussion space for practitioners as well as a webspace for young broadcasters to talk to each other. There will also be a best practise toolkit published here – looking at both how to maximise your delivery and revenue from training.
Our first task is to find out more about current practice in relation to radio training with young people within community radio, schools, community organisations and elsewhere. In order to do this we have designed a survey and would be very grateful if you could complete it for us. We really need to hear from anyone who has experience of delivering radio training to young people including community organisations, schools, youth clubs and other arts organisations (as well as community radio stations themselves). The survey has been piloted and will realistically take you between 20 and 30 minutes to complete. We are offering a chance to enter a prize draw in which you could be the lucky winner of a used (but fully functional!) Audio Technica 804 radio microphone for your work. Please follow this link to complete the survey by Friday 13th July, 2012.
