About the job:- Job Purpose;
The post-holder will primarily work on matters relating to community and commercial radio licensing, but may also be required to carry out other broadcast licensing work (e.g. local television licensing).
What you will be doing:- Key Responsibilities:
- Managing casework relating to possible breaches of community and commercial radio licences.
- Processing requests from licensees for changes to their licences (e.g. applications to extend community radio licences, applications for changes to the ‘key commitments’ in community radio licences or ‘Formats’ in commercial radio licences, licence transfer requests).
- Monitoring the programme output of community and commercial radio services with regard to Key Commitment or Format compliance, and subsequently drafting content sampling reports.
- Assessing applications for community radio and other radio licences, and supporting the Manager, Community Radio & RSLs in administering the community radio licensing process (e.g. writing invitations to apply, providing feedback to unsuccessful applicants).
- Managing the collection of annual reports from community radio licensees, assessing them for regulatory purposes, and preparing summary information for publication as appropriate.
- Dealing with enquiries and correspondence from licensees, potential applicants, the public, MPs and other stakeholders on matters relating to community and commercial radio licensing.
- Contributing to other areas of broadcast licensing, as required.

Pure Innovations is a charity based in Stockport that runs Pure 107.8FM. Pure Innovations offers day care services for people disabilities together with Pure 107.8FM we are developing a brand new service – based in our radio station. It will be operational from 2nd April 2012 and will run for five days a week – Monday to Friday.
People with learning disabilities will have the opportunity to contribute to the running of the radio station and to develop skills in radio production and the media. Service users will be supported by day service staff, and guided by professional radio staff.
Roles will include:
Data entry and management – e.g. checking music levels, entering songs into the library database and checking title accuracy.
Media monitoring – listening to other radio stations – recording formats and advertisements
Media research – e.g. searching the internet and newspapers for ideas for radio content.
Presenting a monthly magazine radio show which focuses on disability.
Development of IT skills and media knowledge
Getting out and about with support from radio staff to get content for broadcast and participating in roadshows.
People will have a unique opportunity to develop IT knowledge and skills, presentation skills, media skills, to work together as a team and to have contact with members of the public in a variety of situations. We are looking for voluntary support workers who will be working along professional support staff and receive training from radio staff.
If you have some experience in working within a care or support role and a keen interest in radio then this may be an opportunity for you. You need to be available weekdays and reliable – you can volunteer for as little as a couple of hours a week – whatever suits your schedule.

Erewash Sound is a community station based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire with a mainstream sound, big plans for the future and a great team spirit.
Our afternoon presenter is planning one marathon of a holiday in August and we are looking for someone to temporarily present the show during her absence. She is away from 30th July to the first Monday in September. The show runs Monday to Wednesday and is on between 1pm and 4pm. The show is playlisted however we allow the presenter to make a few sensible ‘like for like’ swaps.
