Monocle 24 is looking for an experienced live radio sound engineer to work on our 24-hour audio service.

You’ll be working with a small team of engineers and producers on a shift rota that will include early and late hours and weekends, on pre-recorded and live programming.

You’ll have a passion for radio, audio and a strong interest in current affairs. You’ll be able to think fast, respond to technical challenges positively, and can quickly come up with solutions on your own initiative. You’ll also have at least two years’ experience in a working studio environment.

Experience of Myriad or a similar playout system is essential. Protools and Audition skills are also desirable, as well as an intimate understanding of the dynamics and pressures of a live radio studio.

You will need to feel confident around S/PDIF, ISDNs and TBUs. As well as great ears and technical ability, you will also need good studio etiquette, and be able to work well with producers, presenters and guests on a daily basis

Responsibilities:
-Driving the desk during live shows
-Mixing promos and packages
-Dealing with lines from around the world

Then we’ll be delighted to hear from you. Our studio is in Hanley Stoke-on-Trent so you will need to be able to get there to broadcast or volunteer. We may consider allowing people to broadcast from their home studios or submit pre-recorded content, but this will be subject to the quality.

Aged 18-25 and passionate about radio? Love sport and culture? Round 1, Roundhouse Radio’s London 2012 show, is going live, and we’re looking for keen reporters to join the team.

Improve your radio journalism, broadcasting and presenting skills whilst creating engaging London 2012 content for this exciting monthly show. You’ll need to commit to fortnightly production meetings plus at least 4 hours’ work each week, to develop the show between sessions.

Dates & times:
5 live shows: 2nd Monday of each month, 8 – 8:30pm, from 12 March – 10 July.
Fortnightly production meetings : Tuesdays 6.30-8pm
Benefits: You will receive a year’s Emerging Artist Membership for the Roundhouse (usually £15), and reimbursement for travel expenses incurred as part of the project.
Level: Intermediate – some radio and audio editing experience required.

Demon FM is a valuable tool for young people to gain experience in radio broadcasting on a station operating 24/7.

The station’s sports team is a growing strand with big potential; aiming to reflect the best of Leicester’s sports teams on our airwaves and produce quality content as part of our local sports coverage.

Recently, the station has established a NEW partnership with Leicester Lions Speedway, and is to do exclusive coverage for their upcoming 2012 season.

The role is to act as Demon’s Speedway correspondent, attending home race meetings (usually either Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons) to gather content for the stations output.
This will be include conducting:

*Interviews with riders and fans at meetings *Producing small audio clips for the stations news team *Working closely with the Saturday Afternoon Sports Show Team & acting as a on-air presence *Responsibility for equipment – producing and keeping filed documents such as consent forms and risk assessments. *Ensuring a professional and positive relationship is retained at all times with the club and radio station.

We are looking for someone who’s passionate about Sport, especially SPEEDWAY.
The individual must be enthusiastic and willing to learn, a team player who’s prepared to attend race meetings during unsociable weekend hours, and who can display a proven interest in pursuing a career in sports journalism.

Unfortunately, we are only looking for individual’s over the age of 18 due to Health & Safety reasons.

Takeover 106.9 is a community radio station based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
